Apacer Memory Card Products Warranty Policy

(The following statement is not applied to the users who do NOT directly purchase the product(s) from Apacer. Such users should check with the seller for any warranty service.)
The statement only applies to direct purchasers of the products from Apacer.

APACER TECHNOLOGY INC. (hereinafter referred to "Apacer") warrants that its products are free from defects in material and workmanship within the product warranty duration. Subject to the conditions and limitations set forth below, Apacer will, at its option, either repair or replace any part of its products that prove defective by reason of improper workmanship or materials. Repaired parts or replacement products will be provided by Apacer on an exchange basis, and will be either new or refurbished to be functionally equivalent to new. This warranty does not cover marred cabinets or any damage to this product that results from accident, abuse, misuse, lightening, fire, water, natural or personal disaster, or any unauthorized disassembly, repair, or modification.

Duration of Warranty

Apacer limited product lifetime warranty statement implements from April 1st , 2008

Limited Product Lifetime Warranty:

The Apacer Flash memory cards are covered by this warranty for product life * : (including Compact Flash, Multimedia Card, Secure Digital, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, and xD). Except Embedded Flash Industrial Compact Flash and Secure Digital cards, please check Embedded Flash Solutions warranty statement

The Apacer USB flash drives are covered by this warranty for product life *. USB flash drives have been identified its warranty by manufacture date and start from Jan 1st 2008. Except USB Disk Module (UDM), please check Embedded Flash Solutions warranty statement.

Limited One-year Warranty:

The other Apacer product lines are covered by this warranty for one year. (Including MP3 players, Card reader, Hub and Digital Photo Frame)

Apacer will identify product warranty by the manufacture date. Referring to products with expired maintenance/collection period, APACER supplies an addition of 3 month's maintenance period.

*: Product life has indicated the life span of the product. Apacer will announce the discontinued product on Apacer website.

This warranty covers only repair or replacement of defective Apacer products, as provided above. Apacer is not liable for, and does not cover under warranty, any costs associated with servicing and/or the installation of Apacer products. Apacer will not discontinue support of its products, nor obsolete its products, as long as there are component materials available in the marketplace and reasonable customer demand for the products. Apacer reserves the right to provide a functional equivalent, or refurbished replacement Product.

This warranty does not cover if the serial number is removed or tampered by anyone other than Apacer.

This warranty does not cover the products purchased through auctions, both on-line and off-line. Sale of discounted merchandise is final and Apacer will not provide refund or exchange.

Apacer reserves the right to refuse a warranty claim for promotion product or discount product.

Identification for Manufacture date on Apacer flash products

            

To identify manufacture date from PN and SN label

The 3rd to 6th digits in serial number means the year and week of production, for example:  

 "S/N: 77 0012 23456" indicates Year 2000 and week 12th. (March)

 "S/N: 88 0202 23456" indicates Year 2002 and week 2nd. (January)

MP3 product (BP300) SN: 280330100734. The production date is year 2003 and week 30th.

Warranty Claim Procedures and Requirements

All return items must have a RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA) number issued by Apacer. To obtain warranty service, you have to return a defective product, freight-prepaid and insured, to Apacer. In addition, you must have the product identification information, including model number and serial number (if applicable) with a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing.

Once you have obtained an RMA number from Apacer, you must, within thirty (30) days, send the product freight-prepaid and insured to Apacer. Products shipped to the factory must be properly packaged to prevent damage in transit. In addition, you must have the Apacer RMA number prominently displayed on the outside of your package and on the shipping label only.

If you send your product to the factory without the RMA number prominently displayed on the outside of the package, it will be returned to you unopened. Customer will be responsible for round-trip freight for RMA.

Typographical, Photographic and Technical Errors

Apacer does its best to be accurate but occasionally mistakes do occur. Apacer is not responsible for any typographical, photographic or technical errors. Apacer will try to advise you of any such errors affecting you via email confirmation when you place your order. Note: Products and packaging depicted may differ from stock available at time of shipment; Apacer reserves the right to substitute equivalent items.

Disclaimers

Apacer disclaims all warranties either expresses or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Apacer shall have no liability to anyone for incidental or consequential damages merchandise which is sold "AS IS". Apacer makes no warranty as to the performance of any merchandise sold.

The Product must be used with devices that conform to the recommended industry standards. Apacer will not be liable for damages resulting from a third party device that causes the Product to fail. Apacer shall in no event be liable for any consequential, indirect, or incidental damages, lost profits, lost business investments lost goodwill, or interference with business relationships as a result of lost data.
